Erika Jayne - One Hot Pleasure
Erika Jayne is back with a chilling new single, 'One Hot Pleasure'! I say "chilling" because it sent chills down my spine when I first heard it. Written by Dave Aude, Luciana, and Nick Clow, this song is nothing short of a sizzling godsend for clubland, and is definitely a new style for Erika. It is very electro-house, compared to her previous material which was all slightly disco influenced. I absolutely loved her previous material, but this new style is a very very good thing.
The song starts off pleasingly with a sexy shriek, and then a heavy synth-riff intro that continues into the verses. The verses are well-written and very catchy, and by this point you should already be seeing just how different this song is. The pre-chorus drops the synths for a softer feel which is obviously leading up to something. I was amazed by the chorus, which brought an excited smile to my face - it's crazy! The synths are back and Erika delivers with surefire enthusiasm, a completely rapped/spoken bit of ear-candy. You'll be shouting "ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-bang!" all day! The bridge slows down the tempo drastically as Erika reassures us of the song's title, and allows for a brilliant chorus re-entry that will knock everyone on the dance floor off their feet.
The remix package is just as impressive as the song! Dave Aude's mix is heavy, dark, and very intricate, making it a sure standout. It's definitely unlike many of Dave Aude's recent remixes, which makes it very interesting as well. Ralphi Rosario's mix is similar to Dave's, very dark and intricate, but is more trancey like his material tends to be. The real trance however, comes with the best remix in the pack; the Sultan & Ned mix! The remix makes the song sound completely different, and gives it a powerful and "whole" feel, reminiscent of older Adam K & Soha mixes.
Never have I heard a remix pack that is completely perfect, and OHP's is no exception. The DJ Mr. White remix is almost chip-tune, which does not suit this song very well at all. It's nothing but a random assortment of random noises and synths that are off-key, which can all get quite annoying. The Dirtyloud Remix is like a mixture of the Dave Aude and DJ Mr. White mixes - dark and upbeat, with just enough ridiculous noises to make it annoying.
The video for One Hot Pleasure was released before the song was available for purchase, which was a perfect move to get everyone excited because the video is stunning! It is an obvious continuation to her preceding video for 'Pretty Mess', and is just as sexy and fun! You can watch it in all its glory here:
