Roxanna - Unforgotten

Image
From the second I first listened to Roxanna's debut single "Unforgotten" I knew I had stumbled upon something special. With a voice that can send shivers down your spine, Roxanna has really created a work of art. In its original version, the song is a latin-influenced power ballad of sorts. I can hear myself on a carribean cruise with a tropical drink in a coconut cup in hand, just feeling the breeze and enjoying life. Lyrically it's about a failed relationship, but somehow "Unforgotten" has a feeling of happiness. Perhaps, it's the concept of never forgetting the love and how joyful it was at its peak. The original version, however, is not as good as it gets. There is also a Dance Remix of "Unforgotten" where the song truly comes to life. This one is an absolute smash! Roxanna's voice stands out even more with the support of synths and a gorgeous dance beat, and "Unforgotten" becomes a tune you'll never forget. If Roxann...

Irina Interview!

Image
Recently I got a chance to sit down with "Something About You" singer Irina. I put together this fun little interview and she answered all the questions! I certainly learned a lot about her myself, so here it is for everyone to enjoy! ----- Short Bio - Full name: Irina Shapiro - Favorite color: Red and White - Favorite food: Vegetarian food. - Song(s) stuck in your head recently:  ''Sweet Nothing'' by Calvin Harris - Something you support: I support old people, and kids without families. - Something that annoys you to no end: My character. :))) - Your motto: Never give up! - "Something about you" that nobody would ever guess: I’ve never tried any drugs or smoked any cigarettes, my life is music language. - "Something about you" that you love: Crazy sexy drive! - "Something about you" that has changed recently: My mood. Questions - Tell us about your debut single, Something About You. What did you thi...

Irina

Image
Exotic. That is how you would describe the voice of Russian bombshell Irina. Bursting onto the dance scene with her debut single, "Something About You", Irina demands attention from the second you see or hear her. Her voice has a slight accent that gives it a special appeal, one that I personally can't get enough of. The original version of "Something About You" has all the ingredients for a perfect pop jam; a synth-heaven bassline, a killer hook, rock elements with a pop feel, another killer hook, a beat to die for, another killer hook...it's fun to say the least! Sadly, while perfectly danceable, the song is not a dancefloor jam in its original construction. This problem did not go unnoticed however, because Irina's debut single was treated with a delicious, boundary-breaking remix package! Not all mixes in a remix package can be terrific, and "Something About You" follows that paradigm. The Automatic Panic Remix has an unfitting breakd...

Erika Jayne Interview #2!

Image
Here's a present to all visitors of my blog...an interview with Erika Jayne! I posted my first interview with her over a year ago, and it was great fun. So here's another one! ------------------------ Short Bio - Full name: Erika Jayne - Favorite color: red - Favorite food: anything Italian - Song stuck in your head recently: One Hot Pleasure - Something you support: gay marriage - Something that annoys you to no end: jealousy - Your motto: Carpe Diem Tell us about your new single, One Hot Pleasure! - What were your thoughts on it when you first heard it? I can not wait to perform this song! - It's obviously quite different from your previous singles, which were all #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Did you feel you were taking a risk choosing it for your next single? No, It's the perfect song at the perfect time. - Do you feel as sexy as it seems you do in the music video? I toned it down for the music video, lol. - In the video, you have the same two backup dan...

Erika Jayne - One Hot Pleasure

Image
Erika Jayne is back with a chilling new single, 'One Hot Pleasure'! I say "chilling" because it sent chills down my spine when I first heard it. Written by Dave Aude, Luciana, and Nick Clow, this song is nothing short of a sizzling godsend for clubland, and is definitely a new style for Erika. It is very electro-house, compared to her previous material which was all slightly disco influenced. I absolutely loved her previous material, but this new style is a very very good thing. The song starts off pleasingly with a sexy shriek, and then a heavy synth-riff intro that continues into the verses. The verses are well-written and very catchy, and by this point you should already be seeing just how different this song is. The pre-chorus drops the synths for a softer feel which is obviously leading up to something. I was amazed by the chorus, which brought an excited smile to my face - it's crazy! The synths are back and Erika delivers with surefire enthusiasm, a complet...

Erika Jayne - Pretty Mess

Image
Okay, so the album version is a chill track that's very relaxing and nice to listen to. But the remixes of Erika's 4th single, title track from the album 'Pretty Mess', really give it some amazing energy! The remixes for Pretty Mess are a total hit! The Dave Aude Mix (which is the version used in the video) is a dark trance remix that by the time the chorus hit, had erased the memory of the album version from my mind! When a remix can do that, you know it's good stuff. But the excitement doesn't end there, as you might expect from all of Erika Jayne's remix packages so far. DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious will also have you jamming out with a total rave-ready mix! But stick to the Radio Edit for this one, because the Club Mix is mostly just the same clip looped. There's also a Klubjumpers Mix which adds some nice synths and acoustic guitars from the album version, and Marshall Stack's Remix which is electronic bliss! The other mixes include Tracy Youn...

Lauren Hildebrandt - Not Really A Waitress

Image
I received Lauren Hildebrandt's debut album, Not Really A Waitress, in the mail about a week ago. It has been in my CD player ever since. I have received new CD's, but I haven't listened to them yet because whenever I open my CD player to change the CD, I remember a song on this album that I want to listen to. This album is just the kind of perfect Pop that makes Pop lovers love the genre! Almost every song on the album is a song to dance to, and sing along with into a hairbrush. The album starts out with her hit single Boyshorts, which is definitely one of the standout tracks, and third in my top 3 album tracks. It's about throwing on her short short boyshorts when her boyfriend's gonna be around and it's totally on fire! Then comes the title track, Not Really A Waitress. This track sounds likes pop from the 90s, but that's a good thing. Next up is Mr. Wrong, the most R&B of all the tracks. It's very fast moving and catchy. Running Out Of Gas is nex...

Kristine W Interview!

Image
Guess what? I got to interview Kristine W! AMAZING, RIGHT?! I was super excited, and now I'm excited to share the interview with you! Here it is! --- - What inspired you to name your album “The Power Of Music”? Kristine: I’ve witnessed the power that music has to bring people together and to bring joy into people’s lives so it felt like the right title at the right time. - Which track from the album would you say is the most personal one to you? Kristine: They all have a lot of meaning to me because they’ve developed over time so they are all like my babies. At the moment, “Be Alright” is connecting with everyone a lot right now. “Be Alright” feels like it was written for what is happening right now even though I wrote it 3 years ago. I try to be optimistic in my personal philosophy and how I live my life and I have seen the power of optimism – it can change lives. Negativity never helps any situation. - If you had to describe the album in just three words, what would they be?...

Kristine W - Be Alright

Image
Be Alright is Kristine W's latest single, and I couldn't be more pleased with it! It's such a happy and positive song! It will surely lift your mood. With a guitar riff for an intro, this doesn't seem like a house song at first, but hold on and the beats and synths will come blasting in and sweep you away. Kristine sounds amazing as always. If it follows the path of most KW singles, then it will be her fourteenth number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart! It's the fourth single from her fourth studio album, The Power Of Music! Kristine doesn't disappoint with the remixes either, as the remix promo is 15 tracks long! Hex Hector, Boris Blind, Tom Stephan, Joe Carrano, Neil Case, Offer Nissim, Bass Mekanik, and the Perry Twins ALL offer their talents remixing this track, and it is honestly one of the highlights of my year so far. Don't miss out on this one! Here are some handy links. iTunes Amazon Amazon MP3 Official Kristine W Store ♫

Erika Jayne Interview!

Image
I had an opportunity to ask Erika a few questions about herself and her upcoming album, so I present to you, this short interview! --- - Now that you've had a few hits on the dance charts, have you noticed people starting to recognize you? Erika: It happens from time to time. - Your last three singles have been up-beat and fun! There's nothing wrong with that, but will there be any ballads on your upcoming album? If so, tell me about them. Erika: There are 2 ballads, One More Time and Without You. They are about love and love lost. Both are very special to me. - The album is to be titled 'Pretty Mess'. What inspired that name? Erika: The song Pretty Mess is a song about all the characters women play throughout life. One day you are a princess, one day a temptress, and some days a pretty mess. - Which track from the album would you say is the most personal one to you? Erika: One More Time is probably the most personal to me, I get a little sad thinking about the lyri...
